Let's GLOW together

June 27, 2017

With summer finally here, there are only 3 things we want to achieve. Bare, dewy, glowing skin. Below are some of our favorite glow remedies!

The DIY GLOW Facials:

In order for these facials to do their job, be sure you are applying them to a cleansed, exfoliated face, (steamed if you have the time) and moisturize after! They can be left on no more than a few minutes mainly because some of the components in these facials can damage your skin if they are left on too long.

1. 2tsp Honey + 2tsp Lemon: Lemons are antibacterial and do a great amount to acne while having an abundance of vitamin C in them, allowing it to brighten the skin. Honey is perfect for moisturizing.

2. 2 tbsp Baking Soda + 2 tbsp Water: This facial you must be more careful with. Baking soda is only effective when used in short periods. That means leaving it on longer than 3 minutes (for this facial) can be damaging to your skin. However, when done properly, the anti inflammatory and antiseptic components kick in and not only clears acne, but brightens your skin by removing dead skin cells!

3. 1 tbsp Baking Soda + 2 tbsp lemon juice + 5 drops of Olive Oil = BOOST!

This is another facial that you leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water. If you do this 2-3 times a week, you'll notice a significant difference in your skin.

Let's face it. We want our legs to look just as fabulous as our highlight, especially when we hit the beach. Here are some DIY scrubs we love that are great before you head out to dip your toes in the sand. If you don't use it all at once, be sure to seal it in a tight container. The scrubs can be stored for up to 2-3 months!

Vanishing Vanilla Scrub:

1/4th cup of brown sugar + 1/4th cup of white sugar + 2 tbsp of raw sugar + 2 tbsp of sunflower oil + 1 and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

 Expresso' Self Scrub:

¼th cup ground coffee + ¼th cup sugar + 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil + 3 vitamin E capsules.

Scrub away for about 10 minutes, then wash off with your favorite body wash to feel the softness in your skin. Finish with a moisturizing lotion and voilà!

Coffee is great because it helps fight cellulite, and the rest of the ingredients promote brightness (Vitamin E), removes dead skin cells (sugar), and keeps your glow moisturized (olive oil)!

Lemon Love you Scrub:

1 cup of granulated sugar + 1 teaspoon of lemon juice + 6 tablespoons of olive oil or sweet almond oil

We all know the benefits of these ingredients, not to mention how yummy they smell all together! Rub this baby in circular motions for best results.
